We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated and skilled CEMAST Technician/Workshop Assistant. The information below provides more detail about the role.
Benefits
- 6 weeks leave per year (pro rata) plus bank holidays (pro rata).
- Regular training and development.
Responsibilities
- Prepare learning materials, tools and equipment for student use in taught sessions.
- Support students in the workshops/laboratories as directed by CAM or CD.
- Reclaim materials at the end of the teaching day, recycling where appropriate.
- Organise and maintain workshops.
- Ensure that the College’s health, safety and welfare policies and procedures are adhered to, notifying the lecturer of any potential hazards or taking appropriate action to ensure a healthy environment.
- Write and update Risk Assessment for the curriculum area relating to the use of spaces, equipment and activities.
- Update and maintain COSHH, maintenance and other relevant records for the engineering department workshops.
- Ensure all staff and students are familiar with and can operate equipment safely.
- Keep records of any instruction on equipment carried out.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a workshop environment.
- Experience of Microsoft Office.
- Self‑motivated team player.
Qualifications
- Hold a minimum of a level 3 qualification.
