We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated Head of Learning Support and Inclusion. The information below provides more detail about the role and you may also wish to learn a little more about working for South Hampshire College Group by viewing the below video.

Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be held on 13 August 2025.
Purposes:
- To strategically direct and lead the learning support provision throughout the college group. Advocating for inclusion and equity throughout all curriculum areas and across funding streams. To provide direction on the groups direction with regards to learning support, high needs, SEND
- To liaise with staff across the college, facilitate the smooth organisation and effective utilisation of staffing and physical resources to optimise the student learning experience
- To be responsible for the line management of the Campus ALS Leads and supporting the coordination of finances and learning resources allocated to the service.
Skills/experience:
- Knowledge of and/or teaching aspects of an FE curriculum and in particular Numeracy and Literacy
- Knowledge and experience of managing staff and performance management.
- Previous experience of effective tracking of EHCP outcomes
- A history of successful experience of teaching to a high standard in a school or college serving an urban, multi-ethnic community.
- Experience of developing and leading a learning support team to meet a range of educational needs
- Experience of the procedures for completing High Needs Funding Forms
- An understanding of the strategic role of the SENCO and the latest relevant legislation including the SEND Code of Practice
Qualifications:
- Full Teaching qualification e.g. Cert Ed, or an appropriate professional qualification to Level 4
- Management Qualification or experience
- SENCO qualified status or 2 years experience in similar role and willingness to undertake training to achieve SENCO qualification
Ideal attributes of applicant:
- Ability to build trusting relationship with students, their parents/carers and other stakeholders
- Excellent IT skills. a high level of competency and experience of using databases and the ability to transfer skills to learn new systems
- Excellent understanding of strategies to enable students to overcome barriers to progress including learning and emotional/behavioural
- Excellent knowledge of quality improvement strategies that result in positive outcomes for students
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and ensure that deadlines are met whilst maintaining a positive and optimistic attitude
