Apprentice and Adult Learning Support Officer

Salary: Up to £25,037 – £25,756 per annum

Location: Fareham

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 30 hours per week

Duties

  • Work with the ALS Campus Lead and Learning Support Coordinator to operationally support the ALS provision for Apprentices at the Fareham College Campus.
  • Carry out an initial assessment where required and produce an individual support plan for Apprentices and Adult Education Students with ALS.
  • Lead on the assessment of identified students using Cognassist software package.
  • Lead on the basic training of software use for teachers and coaches where required.

Skills / Experience

  • Demonstrable commitment and experience of working with young people and adults with additional learning needs and an understanding of support requirements in accessing education and training.
  • Sensitive to the learning needs of apprentices/students with additional learning support requirements and able to communicate with them effectively.
  • Experience of working within the FE sector.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, and identify tasks to be undertaken within the remit of the post.

Qualifications

  • English and Maths to level 2.
  • Professional qualifications or demonstrated experience of working within the area of Additional Learning Support within a FE environment.
