As a Project Support Officer you will make a difference by helping to deliver transformational change to transport and regeneration in South Gloucestershire. You will provide support to Project Managers, delivering transport and public realm regeneration improvement projects in the district, either in development or construction phases, and an excellent opportunity to gain experience in this area of work.
Through a number of funding streams, South Gloucestershire has secured approximately £100m in funding to decarbonise transport, promoting increased choice of travel options and to drive growth productivity and regeneration through investment in infrastructure.
What you will be doing
- Providing effective support to project delivery teams, working closely with Project Managers and other team members, including those from other departments across the council and partner organisations.
- Managing correspondence across a number of projects, arranging and attending meetings, workshops and engagement events, drafting agendas, recording detailed minutes and carrying out relevant follow-up work.
- Monitoring outcomes and outputs to ensure compliance with defined project deliverables, helping complete project reports, and aiding in the preparation and delivery of presentations.
What we need from you
- An understanding of project management and how methodologies should be applied accurately and effectively on all projects.
- The ability to build good working relationships with project managers, project sponsors, peers, suppliers and stakeholders, and communicate across different teams.
- The capability to interpret data and prioritise and organise your workload to meet competing deadlines.
- Confidence in delivering presentations and proficiency in MS Office project scheduling and programming, along with an understanding of IT systems.

- There may be the requirement to attend some engagement events in the evenings from time to time.
