As a Project Manager in the Transformation team, you will join a high performing and supporting environment, playing a key role in leading transformational change across council services.
Leading and managing key projects across the council, you will scope and deliver on a range of change initiatives in varied service areas. It will be your responsibility to support the development and implementation of ambitious, complex and multi-faceted transformation projects, incorporating system redesign and implementation, organisation improvement, behaviour change and delivery of savings.
Driving change across the council, you will support with improving outcomes for our service users and deliver value for money services, stimulating innovation with significant benefits to our residents and businesses. As an experienced project manager, you will use a flexible approach to develop, lead, manage and implement a range of complex and innovative projects across the council.
Providing sound expertise, advice and information, you will research and analyse opportunities for innovation to establish new efficient and effective ways of working, ensuring that council activity is lawful. We adopt a matrix management approach, and you will ensure team members are motivated to maintain a highly competent, creative and participative culture.
It will be your responsibility to manage, review and resolve any issues relating to budgets, financial information and resources so that agreed targets are met, reports are prepared and delivered and council resources are used efficiently, ensuring value for money.
We require you to hold a relevant project management professional qualification, degree or equivalent specialist qualification. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of project management and project delivery, including public and stakeholder engagement and risk management. It is essential that you have a detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice, alongside knowledge of research, development and evaluation techniques. You will use your initiative to maintain relevant, current knowledge of trends, approaches and methodologies.
You must be able to think strategically, innovate, problem-solve, adapt and bring creativity into project delivery. It is key that you can collaborate and communicate with colleagues from across the organisation, including senior officers and elected members, as well as a range of external stakeholders. You will be able to manage and develop a team or a number of smaller teams, ensuring all team members are valued and understand their contribution to the council.
This is a limited term contract until August 2028.
