As the Community Facilities Coordinator, you will be ensuring that your team provide a safe and quality service, that is fit for purpose and continues to balance and meet the needs of the community that it serves.
You will monitor, manage and report on the performance of the councils cemeteries and allotment services, and the provision of its equipped children's outdoor play spaces. It will be your responsibility to monitor and manage health and safety, legal compliance, income generation, asset management and the routine and reactive maintenance activities associated with your service areas.
As required, you will coordinate and respond to any inquiries or complaints, relating to your service area, in a clear, professional, timely, and evidenced-based manner. You will be expected to organise and deliver the line management functions and supervision of a small team, as well as providing accurate specialist advice to other officers, departments and partner organisations. Using your experience and knowledge, you will provide input into service plan procedures and systems of work, proposing changes to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
What we need from you:
- You will hold a relevant professional qualification in Playground Inspection, Operation and Maintenance or be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of the industry and legal standards relating to the provision of outdoor equipped play spaces.
- We require you to demonstrate experience and understanding of cemetery management and the bereavement journey, and associated industry and legal standards.
- It is essential that you have some experience of line management of a staff team and budget management.
- It is key that you have a good working knowledge and competence in the use of Microsoft programmes, including Word and Excel.
- You must be able to demonstrate the ability to competently assess, prioritise and manage risk.
What you need to know:
This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Broad Lane and working from home, with the need to undertake site visits and inspections as required.
