How You\’ll Make a Difference
As a Community Meals Catering Assistant, you will make a difference to some of the elderly and vulnerable members of the community who may not be able to cook for themselves. You will assist and prepare nutritious meals which get delivered to residents throughout South Gloucestershire.
What You Will Be Doing
- Daily, you will be working with the Catering team in the kitchen to ensure the food service is on time, serviced and packed for the drivers to collect and distribute in the community.
- You will assist the Cook with the preparation and cooking of hot and cold food and snacks for lunch and teatime meals.
- Due to the nature of work, you will be actively partaking in cleaning duties and complete cleaning schedules.
- You will have the opportunity to learn new skills to support your development.
What We Need From You
- Ideally, you will have experience of working in a food preparation environment.
- Given the elements of the role, you will have the ability to work efficiently and at a sustained pace.
- It will be key for you to demonstrate that you can follow instructions, for example accurately following a meal picking list for the delivery of rounds.
- It is essential that you can demonstrate high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within your work.
What You Need To Know
- Your salary is pro-rata to hours worked.
- Community meals is a year-round service, including Christmas and Bank holidays.
- You will be based at the Council Offices, Badminton Road, Yate, Bristol, BS37 5AF.
- Allowance: Sunday enhancement (time & half).
- Your uniform will be provided.
- We will offer food hygiene and Allergen training if required.
