As a Business and Finance Support Officer within the Early Years team, you will act as the first point of contact for early years settings and parents, providing information on early entitlement funding and the availability of childcare places. You will also support the collation of data and financial information to ensure accurate and effective service delivery. As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to delivering sustainable excellence in early years practice, helping to ensure that all children are supported within a safe, high-quality provision and are able to achieve positive outcomes.

As the first point of contact for the team, you will answer calls and deal with email queries from early years providers and parents, directing them to guidance, resources and further information. It will be your responsibility to research, collect, collate and present information in a clear and accurate way, contributing to early year reports. You will support providers with accessing the early years portal, including completing census and financial returns and helping with any queries. It will be key for you to accurately record financial information and maintain records relating to early years.

We require you to hold three GCSEs (grade 4 or above) or equivalent qualification, including English and maths. It is essential that you have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage successfully with early years providers, parents and other agencies. You must have good literacy, numeracy and IT skills to enable you to present accurate reports and records. You will be organised, have strong attention to detail and be motivated to learn.

Your salary is pro‑rate to hours worked. This is a limited term contract, due to end 1st June 2027. This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Badminton Road, Yate and from home. You may also be expected to visit other early years sites such as our training room at Parkwall Primary School.
