How you\’ll make a difference

Utilising a solution focused and innovative approach, you will play a key role in promoting child development and learning.
What you will be doing
- Regularly, you will work with individual children, teachers, families and other local authority officers and partner agencies to contribute to the best outcomes for the children and young people of South Gloucestershire.
- Supporting schools, you will help deliver the graduated approach for children, young people and young adults through systemic work, casework, delivering training and with knowledge of evidence informed interventions.
- You will complete psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and annual review process.
- Leading on an area of interest within the service, you will contribute to the development of joined up working with other relevant professionals and agencies. This could contribute to the development of expertise in areas that schools would wish to purchase.
- When required, you will support others where concerns are raised as outlined in the Code of Practice 2014.
What we need from you
- You should have experience of working as a main grade Educational Psychologist or Trainee Educational Psychologist and must be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality casework and use your initiative to develop project work, contributing to the development of new and existing areas of the traded service.
- You will be able to demonstrate evidence of having developed special interests within the field of psychology.
- You must have knowledge of relevant legislation affecting schools and early years’ settings.
- It would be beneficial to have experience of working or delivering a traded educational psychology service model.
What you need to know
- This is a variable hour (zero hours) contract, salary pro rated to hours worked.
- Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained.
- This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our offices in Kingswood and from home.
Interviews will be held on Thursday 24th July 2025.
