Overview

Administrator – Early Years Team at South Gloucestershire Council. This role is the first point of contact for early years settings and other agencies regarding childcare provision in South Gloucestershire.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Answer telephone and email queries from early years providers and other agencies on a daily basis.
  • Collect, collate and present data and information on early years issues, including queries relating to the virtual learning environment.
  • Support providers in accessing the virtual learning environment and learning and development hub.
  • Assist with parental queries and direct them to guidance, resources and support for early years providers.
  • Maintain records and record financial information as directed.
  • Support other team members with administrative tasks.

What We Need From You

  • Three GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent, including English and maths.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage successfully with early years providers, parents and other agencies.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills to present accurate reports and records.
  • Motivation to learn, adapt to tasks, and the ability to work independently.

What You Need To Know

  • This is a 12-month limited term contract; salary pro-rated to hours worked.
  • Hybrid role with a mix of working at Badminton Road, Yate office and from home. You may be required to visit other early years sites, such as the training room at Parkwall Primary School.
  • Interviews will be held on Thursday, 2 October 2025.
