Location: Stroud Campus
Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced Youth Worker to join our Wellbeing Service team at SGS College's Stroud Campus. This role will bring about the chance to create safe, inclusive spaces where learners feel seen, heard, and valued. You'll work closely with students who may be navigating emotional challenges, using trauma‑informed and restorative approaches to help them build resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, professional relationships with learners, offering informal education and emotional support.
- Deliver creative workshops, group sessions, and one‑to‑one interventions that promote wellbeing and personal growth.
- Be a visible, approachable presence across campus – especially during social times – to foster a positive, safe environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to break down barriers and connect learners to the right support.
- Champion diversity, inclusion, and equality in everything you do.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: At least 2 years working with young people in youth work, social care, housing, or similar settings.
- Skills: Excellent communication, ability to lead and motivate, and a strong commitment to trauma‑informed practice.
