SGS Create provides a specialised, school-like environment within a college setting, offering a nurturing and inclusive space for students who have found mainstream education challenging. Many of our learners are neurodiverse, have experienced prolonged disengagement, or are seeking a more personalised and flexible approach to learning. Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational management of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) processes, ensuring statutory compliance and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate transition planning for learners with EHCPs, collaborating closely with families, schools, and Local Authorities.
  • Oversee the deployment and timetabling of HLTAs/TAs to ensure targeted and effective learner support.
  • Liaise with Finance and Local Authorities to process and monitor EHCP funding accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with the Deputy Headteacher (SEND Lead) and the wider ALS team to deliver a consistent, high-quality SEND provision, while maintaining accurate documentation for audits and quality assurance.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience supporting learners with SEND and EHCPs, ideally within secondary or alternative education settings.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (0-25) and Local Authority consultation and funding procedures.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking abilities, with confidence in liaising with families, professionals, and agencies.
  • High-level administrative and IT skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Relevant training in SEND law/EHCP processes (e.g., IPSEA Level 2/3 or equivalent) and a commitment to continuous professional development.
