Overview
Strength and Conditioning Coach
Role Information: Reference: REQ001333 | Location: WISE Campus | FTE Salary: Up to £26,970.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience) | Hourly Rate: Up to £16.22 (inclusive of holiday) | Contract Type: 0 hour contract, fixed term until 31st August 2026 | Working Hours: Part time, Up to 18.5 hours per week
Sports Academy times are Monday afternoon (2-6), Wednesday afternoon (1-6) and Friday morning (8-1). Essential hours are a Monday afternoon, Friday with additional hours built around these (ideally all day Monday, Wednesday PM, Friday AM).

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Devise and deliver S&C training programmes that reflect the needs of the sport, the individual and in line with long-term athlete development.
- Educate athletes in their understanding of S&C principles whilst providing opportunities to develop a rounded athletic skill set and sports specific physical qualities.
- Carry out appropriate monitoring and physical profiling of athletes to inform training prescription, set physical targets and provide information and feedback to athletes and coaches.
- Liaise regularly with all coaches to ensure a consistent framework of best practice is adhered to.
- Liaise regularly with external partners (Bristol Bears, Bristol Flyers, Bristol City Women FC).
- Attend mandatory college CPD as required.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by management.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- 2:1 or higher degree in sports science or related discipline
- S&C qualification, or approaching UKSCA minimum standards
- Current first aid certificate
- Experience working within S&C
- Experience coaching young athletes
- Excellent knowledge of long-term athletic development plans
- Good computer literacy
- Able to drive a minibus, hold a MIDAS qualification
- Experience in testing and physical profiling
