Our Creative Sector is highly successful, and we are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Photography to support delivery on our Level 3 programmes at the WISE campus. We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic photography educator to join our team at Bristol School of Art on a permanent basis. You will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching on Level 3 courses, with opportunities to contribute across our wider art provision.

Responsibilities

  • Have a strong understanding of the creative industries.
  • Be passionate about providing students with industry-relevant knowledge and experiences.
  • Bring technical and creative expertise across both digital and darkroom photography.
  • Deliver inspiring lessons that build confidence, curiosity, and critical thinking for Level 3 students.
  • Deliver excellent lessons to Level 3 students, with knowledge of the UAL qualifications being beneficial.
  • Inspire and motivate a range of students and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being, participation, and the celebration of each student's talents.
  • Deliver engaging lessons for Level 3 learners with a range of needs and experiences.
  • Deliver both darkroom and digital skills; additional multidisciplinary skills are welcomed.
  • Promote innovation and real-world employability skills.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Further Education lecturing experience.
  • BA in a relevant discipline.
  • Teaching qualification is desirable or a willingness to obtain a PGCE or equivalent.
  • A proven aptitude for teaching and experience of teaching creative subjects.
  • Experience in managing the administrative tasks involved in preparing learning materials and assessing student work.
  • A creative practitioner with a diverse range of traditional darkroom and contemporary digital knowledge and skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Computer literacy and ICT competence.
  • A knowledge of the UAL qualifications would be beneficial.
