Join our forward thinking and sector leading team at SGS College as the Deputy Head of Digital Education. We are seeking an innovative professional to take a lead operational role to enhance digital skills and integrate digital education within our organisation. In this role, you will develop strategies for tracking digital skills development, promote the use of AI to improve efficiencies and reduce workload, and ensure the ethical use of AI technologies. You will have a responsibility for digital skills development within our community, creating comprehensive training programs to equip both learners and staff with essential digital literacy skills to help prepare them for their digital driven futures. Strong and effective teaching skills are crucial to inspire and engage both staff and students, and a readiness to embrace and implement new educational strategies is key.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to developing strategies and programmes to support and enhance the educational, digital, and enrichment learner journey through a holistic learner-centred approach.
  • Support the operational lead on the utilisation of emerging AI and Accessibility tools, developing and managing comprehensive training programmes for all digital citizens.
  • Assist in developing, managing, and promoting digital staff development programmes, including MCE, MIEE, and other specialist certifications.
  • Work closely with the Teaching and Learning team to support teachers through the JLO, learning walk, and other developmental programmes.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified to at least a level 6 or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Level 2 maths and English qualification or above
  • Experience in a leadership role within education
  • Experience of working in the FE Sector supporting teaching and learning
  • Strong knowledge of digital learning technologies
