Overview
Construction Technician (Plumbing and Electrical). Location: Filton Campus. Reference: REQ001334. FTE Salary: Up to £24,312.00 (salary is dependent on qualifications and experience). Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time. Working Hours: 37 hours per week.

Role Description
SGS College’s Construction Faculty have an exciting opportunity for a Construction Technician in our Plumbing and Electrical Department.
The ideal candidate will have some basic construction experience, a passion for the industry and hold a level 2 trade specific qualification, however this is not essential as full training can be offered.
The role is based mainly in the workshops where you will aid, support, inspire and challenge students to fulfil their potential. This role provides an opportunity for individuals who want to expand their skills, experience and knowledge of the construction industry and work alongside skilled professionals in an education environment. The ability to manage your own workload and demonstrate initiative is crucial.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work closely with Learning Area Manager and lecturers to provide workshop support to learners during teaching sessions.
- Track and monitor material usage within a department and inform operations manager of all order requirements.

- Meet regularly with tutors to establish material requirements for practical sessions
- Ensure that workshops have the necessary materials for practical sessions
- Support lecturers and learners to maintain workshop areas
- Follow Construction Health and Safety policies and procedures

- Work within health and safety guidelines and be aware of your responsibilities for health and safety.
- Adhere to college policies and procedures, including Data Protection
- Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and/or vulnerable adults
