Ceramics Technician

FTE Salary: Up to £24,312.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Contract Type: 38 TTO weeks – Permanent
Working Hours: 22.2 (7.4 hours x 3 days Wed – Fri)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
• Maintain rooms/studios/workshops and equipment and ensure they are ready for tutor/student
• Provide specialised technical support to students and staff as required.
• Undertake Risk Assessments, the writing of Safe Systems of Work and ensure health & safety compliance.
• Assist lecturers during classes as required and provide students with technician support
• Ordering suitable materials/equipment and to take, check and store deliveries.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
• Experience within the education sector
• Knowledge of Glazes, Clays, Kilns & other equipment
• Knowledge on reclaim and processing of clays
• Understanding of IT systems such as Teams, Excel, Word etc.
