This Level 4 Sports Coaching apprenticeship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while learning how to deliver high-quality physical education and sports activities in a school and community setting.
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work:
- Support the planning and delivery of curriculum PE lessons within a school setting.
- Assist with and lead lunchtime physical activity sessions.
- Support the delivery of after-school club activities.
- Assist and lead with holiday club sports and activity programmes.
- Support a development squad’s training sessions and match fixtures at weekends.
- Help prepare lesson plans, activities, and equipment before sessions.
- Assist with behaviour management under the guidance of experienced staff.
- Support the organisation of school sports events and activities.
- Encourage participation, teamwork, and enjoyment in all sessions.
Where you’ll work: Shine Sports Ground, Lime Trees Road, Horfield, Bristol, BS6 7XW
Training includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.
Requirements:
- Experience of coaching children.
- Passing a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Willingness to travel between schools during your working day.
- You will be required to work school holidays.
