Whilst undertaking an apprenticeship at The Green Door Nursery, the need is to support other team members throughout the nursery. Provide an enabling environment in which all children can play, learn and develop. This is an excellent opportunity for a smart, ambitious and self-motivated individual to join a friendly environment.

Training course: Early Years Educator (Level 3)

Hours: Monday to Friday; three days 7.45am - 6.00pm; and two half days; attend college 1 day per week - this will be SGS College Filton Campus. 39 hours a week. Duration: 1 Year 6 Months.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:

  • Effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interests of children in the setting are met (in conjunction with other team members).
  • Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
  • Carry out duties in compliance with the Inclusion policy.
  • Be constantly aware of the needs of children.
  • Be flexible within working practices of the setting, undertaking other responsible duties where needed, such as domestic tasks, preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
  • Advise manager/deputy/room leader of any concerns, e.g., over children, parents, the safety of the environment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
  • Be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g., training, monthly staff meetings, etc.
  • Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe running of the setting.

Where you’ll work: The Green Door Nursery, Belvoir Road, BS6 5DQ

Training: An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. College or training organisation: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.

A 36 place nursery in a converted residential property offering places for children aged 0-4 years. A family run business with 28 years of experience in the childcare sector. Excellent Ofsted report. Last inspection in January 2023.

After this apprenticeship, a full-time permanent position may be offered to the right candidate on the successful completion of the apprenticeship; progression to higher education or role will be discussed.
