We are looking for an apprentice who shares our passion for Early Years to join our enthusiastic and knowledgeable team.

Salary: Will be discussed further at Interview

Training course: Early years educator (level 3)

Hours: 40 hours per week including study time. Monday to Friday. Shifts TBC.

Duration: 1 Year 6 Months

Work: As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:

  • Purpose of Job: Responsible as an Early Years Apprentice for 0 – 5 year olds, report directly to the Childcare Lead.
  • Main Duties:
  • Motivate and stimulate children’s learning and development
  • Provide care and offer an appropriate level of support to children, providing them with a secure and stimulating environment
  • Organise and make imaginative use of learning resources
  • Liaise and support parent/carers of children
  • Implement and review the curriculum within the EYFS
  • Record written observations on children’s Learning
  • Personnel: Effectively supporting the Childcare Lead and staff team.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure the health and safety of all children and staff are maintained, acting appropriately in an emergency situation ensuring that the safety and well-being of the children is paramount at all times.
  • General:
    • Comply with all OFSTED requirements
    • Implement policies and procedures of the Pre-school
    • Develop the Pre-school free from prejudice and without discrimination in line with equal opportunities and current legislation
    • Create a stimulating and happy learning environment
    • Develop and maintain the Pre-school high standard of care in line with Best Practice

    Where you’ll work: 60 FALCONDALE ROAD, BRISTOL, BS9 3JY

    Training: An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

    College or training organisation: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College. Will require to have Enhanced DBS check.

    About this company: We are a family owned pre-school in Westbury on Trym. We have served the area for over 30 years and have a well-established reputation with an experienced and supportive staff team.

    After this apprenticeship: Permanent full-time position within the nursery on completion of apprenticeship.
