We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice to join our small but professional team. This is an exciting opportunity to have hands-on experience.

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:

  • Supporting construction projects in office and on site
  • Ensuring Health & Safety compliance with risk assessments
  • Communicating with teams, contractors and suppliers
  • Managing contracts, tenders and project documentation
  • Monitoring costs, resources and project progress
  • Understanding sustainability in projects across economic, social and environmental aspects
  • Understanding different construction methods and materials
  • Understanding management principles and project management lifecycle
  • Understanding the importance of project planning and resourcing and being able to analyse different techniques
  • Able to identify the quality required on a finished construction project
  • Understanding the importance of cost control on a construction project
  • Applying and Monitoring Health and Safety on Site

Training:

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. College or training organisation: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.

Having (or well on the way to obtaining) a current/clean driving licence would be an advantage.

About this company:

GHT are one of the most long established and respected Drylining Contractors in the Bristol Area. We specialise in Commercial, Industrial, Health and Education Buildings and offer SFS framing, Sheathing Boarding, internal Partitions, Drylining, Plastering, Tape and jointing, Ceilings and Acoustic Solutions. We have a Management Team of 7 persons which we are looking to expand and have between 20 and 50 site operatives depending on workload and size of projects.

After this apprenticeship:

Real opportunity to progress through the Management ranks at the company. Successful Apprentices can go on to achieve level 4 qualifications in Quantity Surveying.
