We are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join our dynamic team within the construction, building services, and engineering department to teach and lead curriculum development in construction, building services and engineering disciplines. You will deliver first-class teaching on related subjects, ensuring high-quality learning experiences that prepare our learners for progression and employment within the industry. Working within an established and evolving team, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching in Further Education, with the ability to inspire and engage learners from diverse backgrounds. Your role will be pivotal in driving curriculum excellence, supporting staff development, and ensuring our programmes meet industry standards and local skills needs, particularly in alignment with major infrastructure projects. Join us in shaping the future workforce, supporting local and national projects, and driving excellence in education.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Assessor and IQA qualifications are desirable.
  • Strong industry background in construction, with specific expertise in Carpentry, Multiskills, or Building Services.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching in FE or a similar setting.
  • Experience in curriculum development, quality assurance, and team leadership.
  • Ability to analyse data to inform curriculum improvements and learner outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with staff, learners, and external partners.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in leading apprenticeships and work-based learning programmes.
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, health and safety regulations, and sustainability practices in construction.
  • Experience working with SEND learners and embedding inclusive practices in teaching.
  • Familiarity with managing large-scale projects or partnerships.
