We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Multi‑Skills Technician to support the delivery of high‑quality teaching and learning across our busy Further Education workshops and state‑of‑the‑art Clean Energy Centre. This is a key role within our technical team, ensuring that our facilities, equipment and resources are safe, fully operational and aligned with current industry standards, enabling both staff and learners to thrive in a professional, well‑resourced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain and manage workshop equipment, tools and materials to support curriculum delivery
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to staff and learners during practical sessions
  • Ensure all workshops and equipment meet high standards of health & safety and compliance
  • Carry out routine maintenance, testing, minor repairs and fault reporting
  • Manage stock levels, including ordering, monitoring and storage of consumables
  • Support the development and day‑to‑day running of the Clean Energy Centre, ensuring specialist equipment is industry‑ready
  • Set up and clear teaching areas efficiently, ensuring a smooth learning experience
  • Work closely with teaching staff, technicians and managers to ensure seamless operations
  • Contribute to a safe environment as a Fire Marshal and First Aider

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a technical/workshop environment (construction, engineering or multi‑skills)
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices within practical environments
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs and equipment maintenance
  • Experience of stock control and ordering systems
  • A team player with a proactive, solution‑focused approach
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service (First Aid and Fire Marshal training can be provided if not already held)
