Advert Text We are seeking an ambitious, experienced, and forward-thinking Welding Lecturer to join our Engineering Department and lead the development of a high-profile apprenticeship curriculum area.

We are looking for a motivated and suitably qualified individual to join our dynamic Apprenticeship Team and take responsibility for the delivery and development of our Welding Apprenticeship provision.
The successful candidate will possess strong industry expertise in welding and fabrication, with the ability to engage and inspire learners across a range of welding processes, including MIG, TIG and MMA.
You will be experienced in delivering practical and theoretical training aligned to City & Guilds qualifications, as well as teaching relevant BTEC Engineering units (Units 1, 2 and 3) and sheet metal fabrication.
You will bring energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to the role, supporting apprentices to achieve success through high-quality teaching, assessment and mentoring.
Working closely with employers, you will support apprentices throughout their entire learning journey, from recruitment and induction through to End-Point Assessment (EPA).
You will build and maintain strong employer partnerships, ensure an excellent customer experience, and contribute to maintaining our reputation as a provider of choice for apprenticeship training.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment for Welding Apprenticeships.
- Provide underpinning knowledge and practical skills training across welding and fabrication disciplines.
- Conduct workplace assessments and progress reviews.
- Support apprentices in meeting all qualification and apprenticeship standard requirements.
- Work collaboratively with employers to monitor progress and maximise learner achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate learner records using digital portfolio systems.
- Support recruitment, enrolment and retention activities.
Essential Requirements
- Significant and demonstrable industry experience in welding and fabrication.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering or welding discipline.
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Assessor qualification (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe).
- Experience of using digital portfolio systems and online learning technologies.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to delivering an outstanding learner and employer experience.
