Technician in Electrical Installation and Fire and Security

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 1 year with possibility of extension or permanency, 36 hours per week

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of School the post-holder will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to lecturers/courses in the relevant curriculum area.

Essential Criteria

  1. Have completed a Level 3 or above apprenticeship in Electrical Installation/Electrical Engineering or Fire/Security Systems with certified documentation OR have a minimum of 5 years' experience in the Electrical Installation/Electrical Engineering or Fire/Security Systems industry
  2. Have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in the Electrical Installation industry
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of health and safety in a workshop environment
  4. Demonstrate effective organisational skills
  5. Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral
  6. Demonstrate competence in the use of Microsoft Office package.
