Fixed term contract with the possibility to be made permanent: Are you a proactive recruiter who thrives on searching and connecting with technical talent? We are expanding our team to support major new infrastructure projects, and we need a hands-on internal recruiter to help us identify, attract, and hire exceptional engineering, technical and IT skill sets. This is a varied, fast-paced contract where you won’t just post ads and wait; you’ll be a true strategic partner, leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter and other proactive channels, talent mapping, and proactive sourcing to build robust talent pipelines for critical skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Proactive External Sourcing: Use advanced LinkedIn Recruiter techniques, boolean searches, and direct sourcing strategies to map the market and uncover passive engineering talent.
- Pipeline Building: Create long-term candidate pipelines for critical technical skills and future infrastructure requirements.
- End-to-End Recruitment Partnering: Sit down with technical hiring managers to qualify their needs, craft compelling job campaigns, manage assessments, and guide decision-making.
- Candidate Experience Advocate: Deliver an outstanding, transparent candidate journey—for both internal applicants and external candidates—from initial contact through to onboarding.
- Internal Mobility & Collaboration: Work together with the HR Resourcing Manager and Hiring Managers to choose the best course of action. Proactively identify and guide internal candidates, offering advice and assistance at each stage to promote internal mobility and retain talent.
- End-to-End Administration: Perform all end-to-end administrative tasks, including writing and posting job advertisements on job boards, social media, and career websites. Respond regularly to candidate, agency partner, and hiring manager inquiries, prioritising as needed to ensure success.
- Onboarding & Compliance: Organise and complete all required paperwork and new hire checks to ensure full legal and regulatory compliance across distinct worker categories. Help arrange and oversee the smooth onboarding of candidates.
- ED&I & Employer Brand: Use recruitment practices that boost South East Water's talent while raising the organisation's profile for equality, diversity, and inclusivity (ED&I).
- Data, Systems & Market Intelligence: Keep an eye out for macro and micro market developments and industry trends. Manage open positions through all stages in HR systems/ATS, supporting fast, accurate, and intelligent data reporting to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Needed
- Essential:
- Recruitment Experience: Proven experience working within Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, or a similar full-cycle recruitment position.
- Sourcing Expertise: Hands-on experience with social media, CV databases, and professional networks—specifically LinkedIn Recruiter and direct candidate outreach.
- Stakeholder & Partner Management: Experience working directly with hiring managers, candidates, and external agency partners.
- Systems & Onboarding: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), various candidate assessment methods, and candidate onboarding processes.
- Core Skills: Educated to A-Level or equivalent is essential. Excellent verbal/written communication, highly organised, excellent problem solver, compassionate service, and strong ability to prioritise and maintain high detail.
