As a Waterlink Plumbing Team Leader, you\’ll be responsible for overseeing our team\’s daily operations from start to finish.
You\’ll use your expertise to guide plumbers through project initiation, planning, and execution, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
A key part of this role is to act as a mentor, providing hands-on support and training to help team members grow and develop their skills.
You\’ll be the point person for monitoring progress, troubleshooting issues, and making sure every customer interaction is handled with professionalism and a focus on satisfaction.
This role also includes a standby component to ensure our team can respond effectively to urgent needs. If you\’re a skilled plumber with a passion for leadership and a skill for mentoring, we encourage you to apply.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, develop and appraise Waterlink plumbers to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve peak performance and meet the department\’s needs.
- To take detailed records of the works for cost, measurement and quality. To produce detailed accurate records of as built details for completed schemes.
- To liaise with the Scheduling Team to ensure work is planned efficiently to minimise downtime whilst making sure time is recorded accurately to the correct project.
- Develop and maintain key internal and external contacts to resolve customers problems and liaise with various departments to improve overall knowledge of the business.
- Ensure that the team understands customer needs, managing their expectations and dealing with queries and complaints.
- Attend quarterly teams’ briefs and other meetings as required, contribute where necessary to help the department achieve its targets whilst seeking to positively influence the progression and growth of the department.
- To manage and lead people in line with HR, H&S and business guidelines. This includes appraisals, bi-monthly 1-2-1s and absence reviews.
- Ensure field teams and plumbers are following department processes and policies and are expected to take responsibility for putting forward solutions when required.
- Monitor and assess field vehicle and plant condition, reporting issues when required.
- Identify new commercial opportunities providing estimates and quotations for future work and preparing jobs for closure where work has been completed.
- Monitor workloads to make sure there is no excessive backlog and contribute to decisions made regarding the level/reallocation of contract labour.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with best practice and complies with all relevant regulations.
- Ensure that quality, environmental and Health and Safety policies are considered on every project and works are routinely audited to ensure standards are maintained.
- To make informed and pragmatic decisions considering customer satisfaction, income and profit targets when making decisions.

- Strong operational experience and industry knowledge.
- Effective communication and interpersonal Skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines whilst working unsupervised whilst supervising others.
- Level 2 Cities and Guild Plumbing Qualification
