At South East Water, water is the lifeblood of our region, and as a Compliance Sampler you protect public health by ensuring every drop of water that reaches our customers is wholesome, safe and meets the highest regulatory standards. This purpose‑driven career lets you work independently in the field to make a tangible difference. Based at our Pembury, Kent depot, your day typically starts between 6:30 am and 7:00 am and finishes around 3:00 pm, with a weekend and bank holiday rota to guarantee continuous compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Collect samples from a variety of locations and undertake water quality investigations.
- Perform on‑site tests and quality control checks in accordance with South East Water and Water Quality regulatory standards.
- Plan routes and self‑manage time to meet deadlines.
- Maintain all paperwork and electronic records to the required standard.
- Coordinate sampling with plant staff to ensure the plant is running at time of sampling.
- Deliver samples to the laboratory in Farnborough as part of the weekend rota.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Comfortable speaking with customers and explaining the sampling process.
- Confidence using IT/computers.

- Understanding of the water sampling process.
