At South East Water, we are committed to providing a high-quality service to our customers, and that starts with a highly skilled workforce. We are seeking an Operational Compliance Manager to spearhead our Competent Operator Schemes. You will be the guardian of our professional standards, ensuring our Production and Network Technicians are trained, assessed, and certified to nationally recognised EUSR standards. From managing a team of Training Leads to leading our accreditation audits, you will ensure that every technician on the frontline has a 'Licence to Operate' that is second to none.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Accreditation & Policy Leadership: Evaluate and align our 'Competent Operator' policies with industry best practices. You will lead the update of assessment documentation for Production and design brand-new accreditation processes for our Network (Distribution & Leakage) teams.
  • Audit & Compliance Oversight: Establish a robust audit schedule to ensure South East Water retains its EUSR accreditation. You will be the primary lead for the ongoing audit framework.
  • Team Management: Lead a dedicated team of Training Leads, ensuring consistency, quality, and rigor in how evaluations are conducted across the business.
  • Data-Driven Strategy: Monitor competency data to identify skills gaps. You will take full ownership of developing technical training materials to address needs identified through audits or performance metrics.
  • Systems Management: Maintain and oversee the 'Fluid Thinking' question banks, ensuring all content reflects the latest company procedures and industry regulations.

What You’ll Need:

  • Regulatory Discipline: A proven track record of working within strict statutory and regulatory frameworks (experience with EUSR standards is highly advantageous).
  • Project Management: Experience managing projects from discovery and scoping through to execution and post-launch evaluation.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to engage diverse audiences, build strong internal relationships, and produce high-quality audit reports.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) or Google Workspace to manage assessment programmes and guidance materials.
  • Organisational Excellence: A methodical approach with high attention to detail and the ability to deliver against deadlines despite obstacles.
  • Education: A good standard of secondary education with demonstrated numeracy and literacy skills.

We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for. We know the communities we serve are diverse. We recognise creativity comes from diversity not similarity. That’s why we are enthusiastic about creating inclusion across age, race, gender, ethnicity, religion and identity. You will experience our dedication to equal opportunities and fair treatment for all: through your recruitment, employment and career progression with South East Water.

Benefits package:

  • Excellent Stakeholder pension scheme, up to 10% employer contribution.
  • 5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays per annum, increasing to 6 weeks with length of service.
