Summary: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on managing the technical and engineering aspects of multiple projects, from start to finish. You will be a key part of the team, working alongside the Project Manager to ensure quality, compliance, and successful delivery of our capital investment projects. You will get to see projects through their entire lifecycle, from the initial idea to completion, while ensuring everything is delivered to the highest standards. The role offers a blend of hybrid working, but you will also be out and about, travelling to our sites across the South East Water supply area to see the projects you are working on come to life.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare, schedule, and coordinate assigned engineering projects.
- Monitor compliance with all applicable codes, practices, and performance standards.
- Interact daily with clients to understand their needs and represent them in the field.
- Perform quality control on all aspects of the work, including budget and schedule, and report on project status.
- Assign responsibilities and support the project team.
- Collaborate with the project manager and other participants to provide technical assistance.
- Review engineering deliverables and initiate corrective actions where needed.
- Liaise with stakeholders to gain approvals and facilitate projects.
What you will need:
- A degree, HNC, or HND in an engineering discipline.
- Proven working experience as a Project Engineer.
- Experience in a water distribution or similar industrial background.
- A strong understanding of CDM 2015 and how it is applied to projects.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- A valid UK driving licence.
It will be a bonus if you have (desirable):
- Chartered status or are working towards it.
- Knowledge and experience of water industry standards and specifications.
- Experience with project management software and common data environments.
- Experience with various NEC contracts and their application.
- Experience of working within the water industry.
