South Holland District Council are looking to recruit a highly organised and attention to detail orientated individual as our new Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager. This exciting new role has been created to lead our Home Safety and Statutory Compliance teams that consist of dedicated officers ranging from supervisors, logistic officer, surveyors and remedial operatives. The role consists of a unique mix of personally carrying out site inspections and quality checks whilst having managerial oversight of our Home Safety and Compliance teams – giving an opportunity to retain or gain management experience whilst not being chained to the desk!
Reporting to the Operations Manager for Repairs and Compliance this key leadership role will ensure our homes are safe, free from hazards and that we maintain our excellent approach to Statutory Compliance that is embedded across our Housing Landlord Service, all the time ensuring our approach aligns with our core customer‑focussed values. We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent services for tenants whilst strengthening processes, improving performance and embedding best practice across all aspects of property services.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high‑performing Home Safety and Compliance Team.
- Personally carry out site‑based inspections, including post‑void inspections, to ensure our homes meet the required standards.
- Facilitate and manage contracts that support the service, ensuring they achieve value for money, strong performance and high‑quality outcomes.
- Review, improve and embed robust processes that deliver consistency, efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure excellent governance, data management, financial management and performance monitoring.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and customer‑focused service delivery.
- Work closely with the Repairs and Voids Manager, the Property Services Manager and other senior colleagues to ensure the reactive repairs function contributes towards meeting wider HRA, corporate and legislative requirements.
We are looking for a dedicated leader with significant experience in compliance, maintenance and construction‑based health and safety.
Qualifications- Experience in the social housing sector compliance arena, with a track record of leading and organising teams to work to cyclical inspection regimes whilst organising reactive remedial actions.
- Experience in conducting site‑based assessments, inspections or surveys, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to report findings in a constructive, productive and professional manner.
- A track record of strengthening operational processes and delivering service improvements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and a commitment to achieving value for money.
- A collaborative approach with a focus on delivering excellent outcomes for tenants.
