East Lindsey District Council are looking for an Admin Assistant to assist the Markets Team deliver its markets. The role is fixed term until 31st March 2028. Covering several markets across East Lindsey, Boston Borough and South Holland, you will help deliver a high performing and fit for purpose markets service.
You will be expected to work with each Market Officer from each Council and initially attend all markets to understand the layout and operations of each. You will provide operational support in many ways such as:
- Updating our new online booking payment system across all three Councils
- Taking phone calls to provide advice and guidance on the new system
- Updating relevant Excel spreadsheets
- Logging occupancy figures
- Providing up‑to‑date market maps to erection teams across all three Councils by daily deadlines
- Processing trader applications
- Dealing with any enquiries relating to the markets
You will also assist the Market Officers with their social media platforms in promoting the market. This role will be mainly office/home based, and in the absence of the Market Officer, you may be required to occasionally attend the outdoor markets to liaise with Market Traders, conduct basic health and safety checks and support the day‑to‑day running of the market. You will also be part of a small team that will implement a new online booking and payments platform, supporting traders throughout the process.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
- Full driving licence
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong computer skills, able to learn and manage new online systems
- Occasional Saturday working required
- Working days are: Monday – Friday – 9am‑5pm
Potential interview dates for this role are 22nd May and 26th May 2025, at The Hub, Mareham Rd, Horncastle, LN9 6PH. This position is a shared role within the South and East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) and forms part of the S113 agreement between the participating partnership Councils in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement 1st October 2021.
