We are recruiting an HGV Motor Vehicle Technician to the Fleet services team here at East Lindsey District Council. The role will be based at Warwick Road Depot in Louth. The post is permanent full time – 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, however, some flexibility of working hours will be required due to early morning starts and call‑out requirements.

Responsible to the Fleet Project Manager and working under the supervision of the Workshop Supervisor; in the maintenance, service and repair of vehicle, plant, equipment, agricultural or horticultural machines, all in support of the Council’s Transport and Vehicle Maintenance Service.

You must hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Mechanics and a full, valid Class C driving licence. An MOT Test Certificate is required, or a willingness to train.

You will be required to work in a team which provides a range of services to a range of departments across the Council. You should have a good understanding and working knowledge of the following disciplines:

  • Routine service maintenance
  • Diagnosis and repair
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Electrical circuits
  • Fabrication works
  • Welding gas/electric/mig
  • HGV Inspection
  • Manual Light vehicle (MOT) Inspection
