We are excited to be recruiting for a Supervisor to join our busy Neighbourhood Services Team here at Boston Borough Council. The Neighbourhood Services team at Boston Borough Council is committed to providing high quality frontline services that meet the needs of our residents and stakeholders, and in which our elected members are rightly proud. The team are responsible for keeping the local area clean and tidy and enhancing the environment for both our residents and visitors to the area.
You will supervise a team of approximately 60+ Operatives working from our Boston depot. You will be responsible for ensuring that the team work safely and efficiently and will be expected to help drive performance and identify improvements within the team.
Typical duties are to be:
- Responsible for the supervision of staff and resources engaged in delivering area-based services.
- Ensure staff are trained appropriately to deliver area-based working, including all aspects of health and safety.
- Ensure all relevant documentation relating to health and safety and training are available and adhered to in accordance with Neighbourhood Services Safe Systems of Work.
- Monitor staff to ensure effective performance.
- Complete risk assessments of works to be carried out by area-based teams in respect of cleansing, grounds maintenance and caretaker services.
What do we need from you?
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Category B+E Drivers Licence is essential.
- Category C and Driver CPC is desirable.
- An understanding of Local Government, and the needs of the community.
- This role requires flexibility, including regular weekends and bank holiday working.
