The predicted salary is between 22000 - 26000 £ per year.
Please note we are unable to offer Visa sponsorship for this role. This post is for full‑time hours (working pattern of 8‑4 pm and 10‑6 pm, mainly 8am‑4pm Monday to Friday but can be flexible).
Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and visitors face to face and over the telephone.
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
- Establishing the reason behind visitors’ attendance or calls to surgery in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Ensuring patients are dealt with in an efficient and appropriate way.
- Shredding confidential information on a regular basis.
- Observing health and safety guidelines at all times.
- Ensuring enquiries/telephone calls are actioned promptly and, where necessary, passed to the appropriate responsible person.
- Managing patient registrations and taking necessary details from patients to ensure the appropriate registration form is provided and complete.
- Managing the movement of medical records.
- Locating the appropriate appointment type based on information provided by the patient with the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Effectively handling requests for cancellation and rearranging of appointments.
- Actioning requests or directions from doctors and nurses for diary management.
- Creating requests for home visits and passing clinically based messages promptly.
- Ensuring all necessary, appropriate and relevant information is obtained to deal with problems.
- Reacting to directions to call in patient groups where required and with appropriate training.
- Managing online access.
- Safeguarding all keys, cash and accessible patient-identifiable information.
- Reviewing personal and team responsibilities regularly.
- Using initiative and competence to identify outstanding actions and tasks accordingly.
- Acting on relevant tasks and responsibilities promptly, efficiently and professionally, adhering to Practice protocols and the staff handbook.
