Now at an exciting growth phase, we’re scaling our community, growing nationally, and building SEA into the #1 UK Angel Group. We don't just do deals. We’re building a world where angel investing is the most fulfilling asset of a private investor's portfolio - where every investment deepens expertise, expands networks, and shapes the future.
The Culture: We’re a team of high-achievers who don’t do things by halves. We operate on a "one problem, two solutions" philosophy - we don’t bring problems to the table without bringing options to solve them. We lead with curiosity over ego - we prioritise genuinely wanting to learn and understand over needing to be right or look smart. If you’re someone who sees obstacles as puzzles to solve, who gets energised by ambitious goals, and who’d rather try and iterate than overthink and stall, you’ll fit right in.
The Role: We need a proactive, growth-focused operator to nurture and grow our community. You’ll own three core outcomes:
- Maximising member value: ensuring we deliver member value through exceptional experience
- Growing our community: scaling our network, delivering initiatives, and growing our membership
- Supporting our portfolio: connecting portfolio founders with VCs & investors with opportunities
What You’ll Own:
- Member Experience: Own the membership experience: onboarding, proactive check-ins, managing admin, renewals. Manage yearly member calendar and coordinate pitch events, socials, dinners, and peer sessions. Deliver consistent member comms and respond quickly to member needs and opportunities. Track and report on retention metrics, member satisfaction, and engagement. Listen to member needs and continuously improve our offering: creating new resources, securing new partnerships, or targeting campaigns for specific deal flow.
- Network Growth: Create and execute outreach campaigns to attract potential members. Own the membership journey: from first conversation to successful onboarding of new members. Plan and host intimate investor events (webinars, roundtables). Maintain active LinkedIn presence aligned with our brand. Manage the operations of our women’s education programme: Future Angels. Support with the planning & execution of our annual Angel Investor Summit.
- Portfolio Support & VC Relationships: Build relationships with portfolio founders: regular check-ins, tracking progress. Connect members with relevant portfolio companies for advisory/support. Develop and maintain VC database, facilitate warm introductions. Plan and deliver Portfolio Events. Create valuable resources for portfolio companies. Create quarterly portfolio updates for members.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in venture capital, startups, or working closely with founders (you understand the ecosystem)
- Proven track record of owning projects and delivering results (you get things done)
- Strong business development or community building background (you can build connection)
- Entrepreneurial generalist mindset - happy wearing multiple hats and context-switching
- Thrives working independently with minimal direction - you see what needs doing and do it
- Excellent relationship builder - equally comfortable with warm outreach and cold prospecting
- Strong written communicator - newsletters, LinkedIn, member comms feel natural to you
- Eye for quality and detail - you care about how things look, feel, and read
- Experience with CRM/database management and comfortable tracking metrics
- Content creation skills - you’ve built a professional presence (LinkedIn or similar)
- Event planning experience - you know how to host engaging, valuable gatherings
Practical Details:
- Location: Work from our office in Brighton & Hove. Travel required for investor meetings and events (primarily South East England). Flexibility to work remotely around core collaboration times and events.
- Team: Startup environment: we’re a small, high-performing team where everyone contributes across all areas. Report to and work closely alongside the Managing Director. Work in collaboration with our Syndicate Lead to deliver value to members & support portfolio.
- Hours: Full-time
- Compensation & Benefits: £40-£48k salary depending on experience, 35 days holiday, flexible working, membership at top CoWorking spot (with a gym and beer & prosecco on tap!)
