Scope and Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant (Maths) you will provide specialist support to High Needs Students in the GCSE and Functional Skills Maths curriculum. Your role involves working closely with teaching staff and support teams to:
- Support High Needs Students during maths lessons and learning activities
- Help students engage with GCSE and Functional Skills Maths content
- Encourage confidence, independence, and resilience in learning
- Assist in delivering personalised support identified within Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Monitor progress and celebrate achievements, big and small
- Contribute to an inclusive environment where every learner feels valued and supported
