Northern State University is seeking an experienced and dependable carpenter for a full-time, benefits-eligible position as a Carpenter/Painter. This role plays an important part in maintaining and improving campus facilities through quality craftsmanship, repair work, and renovation projects.
Position Responsibilities
- General building repair and maintenance
- Remodeling and renovation projects
- Rough and finish carpentry
- Framing, trim work, and cabinet making
- Preparation for small painting projects as needed, including painting offices or small touch-up projects
- Carpet, tile, and grout installation and repair
- Installation and repair of building materials and fixtures
- Preventative maintenance and repair projects across campus facilities
Qualifications
- Experience in carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
- Knowledge of tools, equipment, hardware, and construction materials
- Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install materials
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to quality workmanship and safety practices
