South Coast Port Services are a Labour Provider for our customers across the port of Southampton. Baggage handlers help to move passengers’ luggage carefully and securely onto the ship for passengers boarding or into clearly marked areas for disembarking passengers to collect.
For Health and Safety Port Regulations, there is a minimum age requirement of 18 to apply. You will also need a good understanding of English.
Our baggage handlers provide support to Cruise Operators on cruise ship days across the port of Southampton. The work is flexible, and work shifts including weekends will depend on what days the cruise ships come into port.
Baggage handlers help to move passengers’ luggage carefully and securely onto the ship for passengers boarding or into clearly marked areas for disembarking passengers to collect. Luggage trolleys are provided; however, some heavy lifting will still be required up to 25 kilos per item. There can also be a substantial amount of walking required throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate, as well as being physically fit, will be confident in communicating, reliable and well presented, willing to abide by the company dress code and all safety and security measures directed by our customers and Port Authorities.

- Tour of the Port for familiarization Training.
- Inclusive of Holiday pay at 12.07%.

- Holiday paid as you work in an uplift to hourly rate.
