South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex. We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex, with 411 beds. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours a day, for long and short-term stays.

We currently have an exciting opportunity due to expansion for a Maintenance Operative to join our team in Worthing, with travel to our other sites. Reporting to the Head of Estates and Health and Safety, you will be responsible for providing an outstanding service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality reactive maintenance work as well as some project work at our care and nursing homes across our group.

We’re looking for someone with solid experience in maintenance and a trade with effective communication skills. The successful candidate will have:

  • Practical hands-on maintenance experience in plumbing
  • Basic Electrics skills
  • Basic Carpentry skills
  • Experience of painting and decorating
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment dealing with conflicting priorities while maintaining good time management and meeting agreed deadlines
  • A proactive approach and the ability to think and act on own initiative with minimal supervision
  • A full clean driver’s licence, as this role will involve travelling between sites in a company van
  • Be happy in using computers and mobile devices

Hours: 40hrs p/w - Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm, with on call rota. This role is subject to a DBS check.
