South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex.

We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex.

We have 414 beds, having just added an extra 55 with the opening of our new luxury flagship home in central Worthing named The Poets.

Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.

This role is a maternity cover for up to 1 year, ideally starting at the end of August / beginning of September 2026.

This role is office based in Worthing, West Sussex. (No hybrid working).

This is an exciting role which focuses upon recruiting and onboarding activities across the whole South Coast Nursing Homes estate.

Recruiting the right quality of employee in a timely fashion is the lifeblood of our organisation, so you will need to have a tenacious and driven personality, as well as being a very efficient administrator.

To our new and potential recruits, you are the face of SCNH.

  • Responsible for the recruitment lifecycle of all employees across the SCNH group. To include sifting applications, screening and booking interviews.
  • Liaising with Home Managers and administrators on rotas and vacancies, and keeping them updated on progress of recruiting on key roles – Producing weekly reports for the Directors and Senior leadership team.
  • Administering requisite recruitment documentation such as background checks, DBS, references, contracts, offer letters, etc.
  • To engage key stakeholders in H/O and beyond when thinking about new ways to attract, recruit and retain talent – in an ever-tighter employee-led economic landscape – Including sponsorship.
  • Supporting the HR Manager with administration.

Skills, qualifications and knowledge

  • IT skills, including outlook and the ability to learn new systems.
  • Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and able to work alone unsupervised.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Recruitment experience within Health and Social Care would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of and keeping up to date on employment law, and Sponsorship, level 1 user on SMS desirable.
  • Some advanced computer skills – Word, Excel etc as some report writing will be required.

  • Great communication skills, and the ability to get on with people and act with confidence when dealing with applicants, managers, directors and contractors.
