An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic/Laundry Assistant at Fernbank Residential Home in Worthing.
Position and hours
- Role: Domestic/Laundry Assistant
- Location: Fernbank Residential Home, Worthing
- Hours: 4 days per week, 28 hours
- Week 1: Mon, Tue, Thu, Sun — 8:00am to 3:00pm
- Week 2: Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat — 8:00am to 3:00pm
Role purpose
The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a high-quality service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home at all times.
- To clean residents’ rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have completed their patient care.
- To check flowers and plants and water/dispose of as necessary.
- To clean communal areas including mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Ensure the home is safe by removing clutter and keeping storage areas tidy.
- Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
- To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed.
- To take particular care with residents’ personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in a well-ironed state.
- To check residents’ personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair is necessary.
