In this role you will be supporting the manager to ensure the safe and effective running of the care home while complying with regulation, legislation and policy. You will be responsible for the organisation and day‑to‑day supervision of the care team to ensure all people using the service are treated with dignity and respect and the highest standards of care are achieved. You will also develop the care team by mentoring, supervising and assessing competency and to communicate any concerns with the Manager and the Regional Operations Manager.
Hours: 40 hours per week.
Duties Include:
- Supporting the manager to ensure the safe and effective running of the care home while complying with regulation, legislation and policy relevant to the sector.
- Organisation and day‑to‑day supervision of the care team to ensure all people using the service are treated with dignity and respect and the highest standards of care are achieved.
- Developing the care team by mentoring, supervising and assessing competency.
- Creating and updating care plans.
- Fostering relationships with families to ensure that they are kept informed of all changes to the residents’ physical and emotional well‑being.
- To be responsible for the organisation and completion of the ordering, receiving and returning of medication with the senior staff.
- To complete the competency of new and existing staff in medication administration.
- Liaise with the pharmacy and GP surgery regarding changes in medication, errors or medicines that have not been received.
