An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at our luxurious nursing home The Poets in Worthing.
Hours: 32 hours per week, alternating weekly between Week 1 and Week 2;
- Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday - all 10am-6pm
- Week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday - all 10am-6pm
The purpose of this role is to:
- Keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior service to our residents.
- Provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home at all times.
- Clean residents’ rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have completed their patient care.
- Check flowers and plants and water/dispose of as necessary.
- Clean communal areas including mopping, vacuuming, dusting.
- Ensure the home is safe e.g. removing clutter, keeping storage areas tidy.
- Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
- Present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed.
- Take particular care with resident’s personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
- Check resident’s personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair is necessary.
