Job description Part-Time Chef Are you a trained chef who has a passion for food? Do you care about the people you feed and take pride in their enjoyment? Are you friendly and creative and can make varied, nutritious meals? If so, you could be exactly who we are looking for to join our team. Manor Hall is a well-established, family run nursing home in Eastbourne. We are looking for a Part-Time Assistant Chef that has a certificate in a minimum of Level 2 food hygiene and enjoys the challenges that a busy nursing home kitchen can present. Experience of working in a nursing home or care home environment is essential. You will need to have a good working knowledge of the IDDSI Framework. You will be required to work 16 hours per week, including some weekend work, hours and days will be discussed at interview. Good home cooking is a must using fresh locally sourced ingredients and a sound knowledge of puree diets. Fresh cakes to be made daily for afternoon tea. Being a team player is an essential part of this role. You must be someone who enjoys the daily challenges that a busy kitchen has to offer. Uniform will be provided. You will need a DBS check prior to starting. Experience: Line cook: 2 years (Preferred) Food hygiene level 2: 1 year (Preferred) Job Duties: Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Ordering of food on a daily basis from suppliers. Co-ordinate the catering team.
