Manor Hall is a well-established, family run nursing home in the heart of Old Town in Eastbourne. We are looking for a 2nd Chef. A minimum of Level 2 food hygiene is desirable and you should enjoy the challenges that a busy nursing home kitchen can present. Experience of working in a nursing home or care home environment is essential. You will need to have a working knowledge of the IDDSI Framework.
Good home cooking is a must using fresh locally sourced ingredients and a sound knowledge of puree diets. Fresh cakes to be made daily for afternoon tea. Being a team player is an essential part of this role. You must be someone who enjoys the daily challenges that a busy kitchen has to offer. Uniform will be provided. You will need a DBS check prior to starting. Weekend working will be required on a rotational basis.
Experience:
- Line cook: 2 years (Preferred)
- Food hygiene level 2: 1 year (Preferred)
Chef Duties to include:
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards
- Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
- Recording food temperatures
