Are you a trained chef who has a passion for food? Do you care about the people you feed and take pride in their enjoyment? Are you friendly and creative and can make varied, nutritious meals? If so, you could be exactly who we are looking for to create a brand-new team in our kitchen so it becomes the heart of our lovely home.
Manor Hall is a well-established, family run nursing home in the heart of Old Town in Eastbourne. We are looking for a 2nd Chef. A minimum of Level 2 food hygiene is desirable and you should enjoy the challenges that a busy nursing home kitchen can present. Experience of working in a nursing home or care home environment is essential. Good home cooking is a must using fresh locally sourced ingredients and a sound knowledge of puree diets. Fresh cakes to be made daily for afternoon tea.
You must be someone who enjoys the daily challenges that a busy kitchen has to offer. Uniform will be provided. You will need a DBS check prior to starting.
Chef Duties to include:- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards
- Recording food temperatures
