Salary: NJC Grade C: £25,989 - £26,403 FTE (pro-rated to reflect hours and weeks worked)

Working Pattern: These are full-time and part-time positions, working either 39 weeks per year or 52 weeks per year. Part‑time hours to be determined (Monday to Friday).

About the Role: South Brent Primary School is recruiting a full staff team of nursery practitioners for its new nursery, “Little Roots and Shoots Nursery & Pre‑School”, birth – 4 yrs, planned to open in September 2026. This is a very exciting opportunity with a range of roles available.

Working Patterns Offered:

  • A: Full time – 52 weeks per year
  • B: Full time – 39 school weeks per year
  • C: Part time – 52 weeks per year (exact hours to be agreed)
  • D: Part time – 39 school weeks per year (exact hours to be agreed)

Working patterns of newly appointed staff will be matched to the session needs in the nursery and preschool.

Location & Support: South Brent is close to the A38 and easily accessible for staff travelling from Totnes and Ivybridge. The school and the nursery & pre‑school are part of The Harbour Schools Partnership, a multi‑academy trust with many successful nurseries. Staff joining our teams benefit from a wide range of training opportunities and support.

Qualifications: Applicants will ideally have a Level 2 Early Years qualification, NVQ or equivalent, and preferably have some recent experience of working with nursery and/or pre‑school age children. Applicants who have experience but not a Level 2 qualification are also welcome, as Level 2 training can be provided for suitable candidates.

Additional Requirements: This role requires an enhanced DBS disclosure. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK with no restrictions, as the Harbour Schools Partnership cannot offer sponsorship or work visas. Proof of Right to Work must be provided at interview stage.
