Join to apply for the Finance Manager role at South Bay Center for Counseling/Community Development.
Position: Permanent – Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all finance operations, including accounts payable, billing, credit control, payroll, client accounting and petty cash.
- Ensure accurate client and office accounts in line with SAR and HMRC requirements.
- Oversee cashiering functions, bank reconciliations (daily, monthly and SRA), VAT and payroll.
- Review and approve payments, including CHAPS, BACS and completion statements.
- Produce month‑end, management and year‑end accounts (with external support).
- Manage budgets, journals, audit preparation and dormant balances.
- Lead, develop and manage the accounts team, including training and recruitment.
- Act as key finance contact for partners, fee earners and external stakeholders.
- Support quarterly financial reviews and compliance reviews with COFA/COLP.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years experience of working in a busy Legal Cashiering department.
- Existing experience of working to the Solicitors Accounts Rules and Solicitors Regulation Authority.
- Experience of daily banking, office and client transfers, cheque processing, petty cash, bank reconciliations and payroll.
- Experience of working with legal accounts software packages.
- Registered with SRA as a legal cashier & ILFM Registered (desired).
- Team leadership experience with strong organisational and communication skills.
