Responsibilities

  • Help develop the Adult ESOL provision at the Adult ESOL Skills Centre based at the dedicated Brixton Campus.
  • Teach ESOL and potentially another discipline such as Maths, IT, or Vocational subjects to adult learners.
  • Prepare and deliver high quality lessons in line with the college curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Provide individual and group support to learners, fostering their development and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Adult Education department to contribute to curriculum development and improvement.

Qualifications

  • Qualified and experienced as an ESOL lecturer for adults.
  • Experience teaching across disciplines (dual professionals) e.g., ESOL & Maths, ESOL & IT, or ESOL & Vocational.
  • Strong agile, flexible, reliable teaching practice.
  • Confidence and autonomy in subject delivery.
  • Collaborative team player, builds positive relationships, upholds integrity under pressure.
  • Advanced digital literacy, innovative and committed to continuous learning.
  • Passion and creativity for pedagogy and learner development.

Role Details

  • VT (seasonal/sessional) hours: between 6 and 15 hours per term.
  • Term-time only.
